Digital time switches are versatile and functional pieces of equipment used for the control of ventilation, heating, lighting and watering of gardens in commercial and residential applications that require the programming of the operation according to a daily or weekly schedule. They’re incredibly reliable, precise and durable, and feature on/off cycles that you can choose from in a 24-hour timeframe. Unlike conventional time switches, which use clock hands, digital time switches feature a numeric display. Additionally, they can feature different motion sensors that can turn lights on and off, depending on the time of day. You can program the motion sensors so that they don’t have to be turned on all day, and thus, save more time and energy. However, keep in mind that digital switches are typically more expensive compared to their conventional, analog counterparts.

There are two basic types of digital switches – weekly and astronomical. An astronomical time switch is location-dependent. In other words, the timer needs to know your precise location so it can manage your light fixtures and devices based on the time of day properly. On the other hand, a weekly digital time switch can be preset a whole week in advance. This means that these switches aren’t time-dependent and they’ll only control your devices depending on how you’ve set it. Both switches are easy to install – all you need are a few screwdrivers, connectors, wire strippers and some pigtail wiring.

You can easily fit a digital time switch in a regular wall switch box. Most models come with wire leads that can be directly connected to circuit wires with the help of a wire connector. Unlike their analog counterparts, digital time switches don’t have a neutral wire connection. Some models come with screw terminals that need to be connected with the circuit wires, while others have wire leads that can be connected to the circuit with the help of wire connectors. In most cases, there are 3 wire leads – ground (green), LOAD (blue) and LINE (black). Digital time switches also come with LED screens, making them extremely easy to use. All you need to do is push the buttons on the screen in order to set the time of the day, then you can program the on and off cycles based on your specific needs.

The process of installing digital time switches is similar to installing a regular wall switch or wiring a single-pole dimmer switch. Keep in mind that you have to make sure the circuit that powers the switch box is off before you even start. As briefly aforementioned, you’ll need the following tools – a screwdriver, wire connectors and strippers, and pigtail wires.

The first step is connecting the ground wires. Depending on whether the time switch has ground screw or wire leads, you may have to either find the circuit grounding wires inside the circuit box (if the switch has wire leads), and then use a wire connector to attach the grounding wire to it, or you’ll have to use grounding pigtails to connect the switch to the circuit grounding wires (if the switch has a grounding screw).

Next, you’ll need to connect the LINE wire lead, which you’ll need to use a wire connector to do so. Connect it on the switch to the hot wire that’s coming out from the power source. If your time switch model features screw terminals and not wire leads, you’ll need to connect the feed circuit wire onto the terminal screw. Once you’ve connected the LINE wire lead, it’s time to connect the LOAD one. You can do so by connecting it to the circuit hot wire leading to the appliance or device that you want the time switch to control.

Once you’ve connected all the wire leads, place them inside the box carefully and push the switch into the wall box. Then, attach the mounting straps and the cover plate to complete the installation process. Lastly, program the switch based on your needs with the help of the manufacturer’s directions.

The applications of digital time switches are numerous – you can use them to power pumps, motors and even hydroponic systems. But that’s not all – you can also use them to regulate air-conditioning systems and lighting fixtures. That being said, they can find use in both commercial and residential applications. For instance, if you’re a store-owner, you can use astronomical models to automatically control the window lighting of your store. Automated lighting systems can provide you with power and thus, money saving benefits by turning the lights on only in the evening, when it’s dark outside. Of course, you can also use the time switch to turn the lights off every day when the sun rises. Buying a digital time switch won’t break your bank, and you can save money using one in the long run, regardless of whether you need it for your home, store, factory, company, both outdoors and indoors.

Flashlights, much like phones, have come a long way from where they once were and while the former doesn’t come as feature-packed as the latter, it can certainly give you more than enough features. This is mainly due to the introduction of LED since it is a more efficient technology making for a far more advanced flashlight. In recent years, flashlights have not only become more feature-packed but also brighter with more and more lumens being added every year. That being said, here are some of the brightest contenders today.

Thrunite TN36

This flashlight from Thrunite is a true champion when it comes to its lumen count since it can reach 11,000lm and provide that level of light for a maximum of 85 minutes when put in turbo mode. The TN36 Thrunite flashlight weighs about 427g, (without the battery) and comes with a maximum beam distance of 353m. It has 5 different modes powered by 4 18650 batteries which allow for a peak beam intensity of 31140 cd. This flashlight is IPX-8 rated and has an impact resistance of 2m and it measures 13.3cm in length, 6.4cm in head diameter and 5.2cm in body diameter.

Firefly is the first and lowest intensity mode which can last up to 28 days since it has an output of 3lm and is followed by the infinity low mode which produces 96lm and it lasts up to two and a half days. Next, the TN36 Thrunite flashlight features infinity high mode which lasts only 90 minutes but has an output of 8000lm which is what can be found on the strobe mode too. Finally, the turbo mode is what makes this flashlight able to produce those 11000 lumens for the duration of 90 minutes.

You also get a memory function on this device so you have the last used mode when you turn it on, a low voltage indication which alerts you when the batteries need to be replaced or charged and ITC technology. ITC reduces the temperature whenever the flashlight exceeds 80°C to protect it from overheating thus expanding its lifespan.

Thrunite TN42C

Although this unit only has a maximum output of 2000lm, which by the way is not a small amount, its beam distance reaches 1550 meters, way more than its brighter counterpart. It also has 6 different modes instead of 5 and it can work under very low temperatures which go down to as much as -40°C. This Thrunite torch is built for endurance and although its 1m impact resistance doesn’t tell you that its 58 days of continuous runtime surely does. The peak beam intensity is between 600-750cd while the device also comes with a built-in fast-charging system.

The firefly mode on this unit can produce 0.8lm which is why the device can last up to 58 days but with the low mode, it can last up to 4.3 days with a maximum output of 38lm. The medium mode of this Thrunite flashlight lasts up to 17.8h with 256lm while the strobe mode has an output of 680lm that lasts up to 10.8h and the high mode being set at 780lm that can last you up to 5.3h. The turbo mode is the most powerful as it provides you with the maximum output of this device for about 11 hours.

OlightX7R Marauder

The monstrosity of a flashlight which is the marauder weighs in at 665g and it has a lumen count of 12,000 but its beam distance is only 380m which in the high-end flashlight market is not very impressive. Since this device is so powerful it comes with an included diming proximity sensor which prevents the bright light from setting easily combustible objects on fire.

While at peak brightness it can only run 3 minutes, if you decide to go with its 7000lm setting you’ll be able to use it for 120 minutes while with the lowest setting you can sue it for one month straight as it is only 10lm. This flashlight is about 13cm long and 5.2mm wide and its built-in battery can only be charged via USB-C.

WissBlue H1

Unlike the previously mentioned flashlights, the H1 from WissBlue has a military-grade waterproof design and it comes with a removable lithium battery. This unit has an impressive beam distance which ranges up to 975 metres and it comes with 4 different modes and thanks to the impressive battery capacity of 3350 mAh, it can work between 100 and 400 minutes depending on the mode.

Since this is a military-grade flashlight, the flashing mode is mainly meant to be used as a security feature as it’s only going to distract and overwhelm the eyes of an intruder. The strobe mode can be used in three different levels, low medium and high whilst the device is 20cm long, 5.3cm wide and it has a head diameter of 8cm. The LED ray on the WissBlue H1 can be used to illuminate both over long and short distances with a maximum output of 3800 lm.

Edison Bright Fenix TK75

This flashlight comes with 6 different modes, eco, low medium, high I, high II and turbo, plus SOS and strobe which range starting from as low as 50 and all the way to its maximum output of 5100lm. Its anti-reflective lens is made from a toughened ultra-clear glass and the unit uses 4 18650 batteries but it can use 4 CR123A as well.

This 5100 lumen unit from Fenix comes with a beam distance of 850m and can be charged via micro-USB while its body is made out of corrosion-resistant aluminium with a hard-anodized finish. Unlike all the flashlights on this list, the TK75 comes with an IP68 rating which means that it can be submerged 2 meters underwater for up to 30 minutes without getting damaged.

Although thermal imaging cameras were initially developed for military use, today they find a wide range of uses in a variety of fields. They help firefighters see through smoke, power line technicians locate overheating parts and joints, and law enforcement use them for locating suspects and managing surveillance activities. Nowadays, there’s a wide range of thermal imaging cameras available online, which makes selecting the right one more complicated for first-time buyers. One of the most popular brands of thermal imaging cameras is FLIR, and one of their most popular models is the FLIR E 53.

The FLIR E 53 combines the latest thermal imaging camera technologies available from FLIR and it is rich with the key features of the more expensive E 75 model, but at a more affordable price. This makes the FLIR E 53 an attractive option for those who are contemplating between FLIR E 75 and the E8. It’s ideal for troubleshooting power, electrical and mechanical systems in a quick and easy manner. Further, it allows you to identify leaks, inspect insulation and find moisture problems.

The E 53 has a rather large and bright touchscreen, providing the operator with complete control over the menu settings using an intuitive navigation system that’s specially designed to make the E 53 easy to operate. It produces a clear and crisp image thanks to its 240×180 infrared resolution at an affordable price. It also has a thermal sensitivity of 0.03°C, which allows you to monitor even the smallest of temperature differences from a distance.

This thermal imaging camera has a manual focus to make capturing thermal images easy and quick. Further, you can focus on any part of an image, even at varying distances, meaning you have great overall control over what’s being measured. In other words, this thermal imaging camera is incredibly functional and is rich with features that make it a cutting edge in thermal imaging.

FLIR has always had wireless communication for their cameras, and E 53 is no different. You can easily connect it to a tablet or a smartphone, allowing you to see the camera’s screen on a mobile device in real-time. Additionally, you can upload the images to cloud services, create reports and mail them on the spot. Moreover, the Bluetooth functionality allows the camera to be linked with any MeterLink equipment, such as FLIR clamp meters, moisture meters or multimeters. All of the data from the MeterLink equipment can be captured and stored on the camera itself, and the built-in GPS and compass allow you to know where each piece of data has been taken from.

Batteries play a crucial role in how your RC vehicle performs, regardless of whether it’s electric or nitro powered. Many people wonder what batteries have to do with nitro-powered RC vehicles since they run on fuel. Well, even though that’s the case, you still aren’t going anywhere without a battery, since the battery powers the servos and receiver. There are many different types of batteries, and the two most popular ones and NiMH and LiPo RC batteries.

LiPo Batteries

Most RC vehicles don’t come with LiPo RC batteries, so you’ll most commonly find them being sold as accessories. LiPo batteries are lighter, yet offer similar capacity and voltage as NiMH batteries, allowing your vehicle to go faster. Furthermore, they can maintain their voltage for significantly longer as the pack is depleted. In other words, instead of delivering less and less voltage as it depletes, LiPos can deliver steady voltage for the most part, but then fall off quickly right at the end. They are a bit more expensive than NiMH batteries, but that gap is closing. Lastly, LiPo batteries require more care for safe and long use.

NiMH Batteries

Most ready-to-run models come with a NiMH battery, simply because it is more affordable, rugged, and doesn’t require much care. However, as I mentioned before, these batteries are heavier and as they deplete, their voltage delivery decreases as well. Although you may not notice it at first, as you start using your RC vehicle, it will go a bit slower as every minute passes by.

Battery Chargers

Regardless of whether you pick a NiMh or LiPo battery, you’re going to need a battery charger. There are NiMH and LiPo specific chargers, but also universal models that can charge both battery types. The charger should have a high amperage output so that it charges your batteries faster. If your model came with a charger that has an amperage rating of 300mA, and the battery on your model is a 300mAh, it will take the charger about 1 hour to fully charge the battery.

However, that doesn’t mean that you need to get a charger that has an output that’s significantly higher than your battery’s capacity, as that can reduce the battery’s longevity or even fry it completely. As a general rule of thumb, don’t get a charger with more than double the amperage capacity of the battery.

In order to protect our beloved iPhones, which can be a rather hefty investment, we seek protection in phone cases. As the iPhone has evolved over the years, the cases for it have greatly evolved as well. For that very reason, to help you buy the best protective ally for your device, in today’s blog post I will compare two case series from different brands. Let’s get to work.

Waterfall Series – Casemate

This glaring case series will definitely attract some attention as it contains glitter between the back layers. The glitter moves around when you flip your phone thanks to the mineral oil inside it, which makes the case mate Waterfall series to have a more dynamic and unique finish. Some waterfall cases have an iridescent back as well. The case mate Waterfall series is made for people who want a different and more interesting design of their phone and the ones that easily get bored with the conventional dull look of most cases. Although it is transparent, the waterfall series provides a great amount of protection and it supports wireless charging.

The case mate Waterfall series is made to endure a 3-metre falls thanks to its dual-layer protection and military grade impact resistance. It also has an anti-scratch technology within its one-piece platform design which also has metallic button accents to it. The sides of these cases are also flexible enough for a more convenient grip. With some cases, when the phone is being charged you can see a glow effect “passing through” the glitter – only visible if you hold it near a light source. The waterfall series is mostly available for the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max, but they are available for older generation iPhones as well.

Design Series – Incipio

Incipio’s design series isn’t as flashy and eye-catching as the Waterfall series, but it is known to have some really good designs. The folks over at Incipio have really made some unique designs that go hand in hand with the semi-transparent feature of these cases. Some of them include flowers, gradients, and very minimalistic designs. Although they are also big on transparency, the cases from Incipio’s design series are surprisingly strong and durable, while also providing you with easy access to the buttons without any loss of protection.

There is no wide opening for the buttons here but rather very protective button coverings that allow for the buttons to still be clickable and well protected. The frame of the case has a metallic foil accented all the way around, which gives it a more luxurious look. The rigid hard shell makes the case very durable and it also has a coating that makes it scratch resistant. All these features make for a case series that is not only great in design but also in function.

Incipio Design Series – Who Wins the Battle? appeared first on InfoType.

If style means more to you than protection, however, then the Fintie Protective Case is one of the best MacBook covers you can find on the market. It is mainly designed for the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2016 & 2017) and it comes in a variety of styles and colors to fit every mood and personal taste. The MacBook Fintie Protective Case has a polycarbonate shell interior which is made of premium synthetic leather for a gorgeous look. It also doubles up the protection against scratches, fingerprints, or slipping on tables or desks. The overall design doesn’t obstruct the opening or closing of the laptop in any way and it certainly doesn’t block access to ports.

Best Splurge: Twelve South BookBook

Acting as part case, part cover, the Twelve South BookBook is one of the most expensive cases manufactured for Apple’s MacBook. It is made out of genuine leather that gives its sophisticated look, has a hardback cover and reinforced spine which help protect the device. Plus, it has an added impact-absorption for extra peace of mind.

Now that the holidays are over, don’t you kinda miss the soft, romantic glow of your Christmas lights? If you ask me, it’s quite a pity that our homes only get to sparkle for a few weeks a year. Luckily, for those of us who want to make their living spaces feel extra special all year round, there are always LED strip lights.

But besides adding a subtle glow to your home, LED strip lights are also thin and flexible which allows them to fit in places where traditional lighting can’t. And just like Christmas lights, LED strip lights for sale are also available in a variety of impressive colours which you can use to add some drama to your existing décor. If you are wondering how you can make creative use of these unique lights, here are some wonderful ideas for every room of the home.

Showcase the Features in Your Living Room

The fact that LED strip lights for sale are flexible and can be cut to any desired length allows you to use them for highlighting different elements and architectural features in your living room. For instance, you can attach LED strip lights under wall shelves or a TV unit. This is an easy way to add an unusual decorative accent in your living room. What’s more, if your living room has crown moulding on the walls or the ceiling, you can create ambient lighting by concealing LED strip lights within it. This helps create a diffused effect which gives the room a luxurious feel while also being easy on the eyes.

Illuminate Your Kitchen with Under-cabinet Lighting

Do you know that LED strip lights are just the perfect size to fit under your kitchen cabinets? Lighting up your kitchen cabinets is the best way to give the kitchen a decorative edge. What’s more, these lights can also serve as ideal task lighting for when you need extra visibility to prepare meals on the counter. Besides being stylish and able to fit in the small space under the cabinets, what makes LED light strips the best option for the kitchen is that they can withstand the high levels of moisture.

Light Up Your Bathroom Mirror

Another great place to use LED strip lights is the bathroom, particularly the bathroom mirror and vanity. Not only does it create the effect of an expensive hotel room bathroom, but a mirror surrounded by strip lights can be very practical. The additional illumination allows you to have more visibility for applying your makeup or other grooming rituals, kind of like a professional beauty salon mirror.

Preserve the Serenity in Your Bedroom

LED light strips are quite popular as additional lighting in the bedroom due to the soft and comfortable glow they produce. By highlighting your bedroom with these lights you can make sure your relaxation haven is stylishly on-point but never too bright to disturb your sleep. What’s more, you can even make practical use of strip lights by lining the insides of your closets with them. This way, you won’t need to turn on the light and disturb your partner when you need to retrieve something from the closet.

Industrial cables are becoming more sophisticated as businesses are looking for high performance and reliability plus seamless reporting and data access. However, in order to get the most out of an ethernet cable, you need to pick the right type. Network components are a major cause of network faults while operating systems account for less than a fifth of failures, and program failure accounts for a small minority of network failures. The problem with network cable failure is that it’s oftentimes very difficult to diagnose and solve.

That being said, the cost of cabling is compared to the cost of network failure, which can be hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars per minute, which makes it clear that it makes perfect sense to choose and install the proper cables for each and every application. You can’t expect typical office cables to perform well in industrial environments, as they’re not made for use in harsh industrial environments. Additionally, cables are integral to machine instrumentation, automation, and control system, making them a liability for hazards.

For that reason, knowing your application is essential to avoid expensive network failures. You need to choose a cable with the right characteristics. For instance, you might need a flexible cable with oil resistant features, which would call for an Olflex cable with such characteristics. Alternatively, you might need an Olflex cable with UV and weather resistant properties specially made for outdoor use. That being said, carefully consider the application and the environment in which the cable will be used before making the final buying decision.

Furthermore, you have to pick between a shielded and unshielded cable. Unshielded cables can be used in practically any environment, while shielded ones are typically used in high noise environments. A shielded cable is protected by a foil or braid in order to maintain the integrity of the signal and to keep out any undesirable noise or interference. Some cables use a foil or a braid combination for extra noise protection and durability.

Lastly, you have to decide on the jacket. You’ll have to pick between PVC, FRNC, TPE and PUR cable jackets. PVC jackets are great for general purpose and offer great mechanical strength. They’re affordable and offer moderate flexing. FRNC jackets are flame retardant and feature moderate flexing. TPE jackets are great for flexing applications are have amazing coolant and oil resistant properties. Lastly, PUR jackets offer the best resistance to abrasion, are highly tolerant to solvents and are very flexible.

Looking for a hobby to help you take your mind off the daily stress? Why not try RC vehicles? Many adults are passionate about collecting these cars, building them, operating them and even racing them in competitions. And while you may think this would be some childish hobby, RC vehicles are not you’re average toy-grade stuff. As opposed to RC toys, RC vehicles, accept a variety of performance-enhancing accessories or customization. And if they break, you can easily get a replacement part to keep them going.

And while an RC toy can be found from any big-box store such as Target, an RC model vehicle can only be purchased from a specialized RC hobby shop. The fact that such shops exist is a testament to how popular this hobby is. A standard RC hobby shop will have a variety of RC vehicles to choose from, ranging from cars to trucks, buggies, rock crawlers and more. You may start with one simple model and instantly hook yourself on trying more complex types of RC vehicles. In fact, many hobbyists even build their own RC kit from different parts.

As a beginner, it’s recommended that you start with an RTR (ready to run) model, which comes pre-assembled and ready to be operated straight out of the box. An RTR model is perfect to get an idea of what the RC hobby is all about. Plus, loads of RTR vehicles accept accessories and upgrades. Once your knowledge and skills have grown, you may want to try building your own RC kit. Although building a kit is more time-consuming, it allows you to better understandhow the RC works and what’s the best way to maintain and upgrade it.

Like regular cars, RC vehicles can also be powered by electricity or by gas. Electric models are considered a good start for beginners as they are inexpensive and quiet. They are powered by rechargeable batteries and can run 30-50 km an hour. On the other hand, gas models are much louder and come with engines similar to a lawn mower’s. Gas models feel more exciting as they resemble real cars with the smoke, sound and smell coming out from the exhaust. Plus, they can go really fast, from 50 – 75 km an hour.

As you can see, both electric and gas RC vehicles can reach very high speeds. With that being said, you need to practice your driving skills on a smooth and clean terrain in order to avoid crashing and damaging your car. And the same goes for operating an RC aircraft. Once you get the hang of it, you can move on to a rougher terrain and try out more complex vehicles.

A lot of people love hunting, but most hunters go for prey animals that aren’t as exciting to hunt as hunting predator animals. Foxes, coyotes and wild boars are some of my favourite animals to hunt because they pose a bigger challenge. If you’re looking to transition from a prey-hunter to a predator hunter, then the first thing you should do is evaluate your hunting gear. You’ll need a couple of predator calls and attractants to lure the predator, and you’ll also need predator hunting lights, especially if you hunt after sunset. Hunting lights are probably your most important tool, not including your rifle, of course. Without them, you have no way of getting a clear shot.

Even though you can probably use your old LED flashlight that you go hiking and camping with, you’re much better off investing in predator hunting lights that can be gun-mounted. This way you will have both of your hands free, and a light that doesn’t disturb the coyote or fox so that you can get a clean shot every time without spooking them. But before you head out to buy hunting lights, there are a couple of factors you’ll need to consider.

First and foremost, you need to consider the colour that the hunting light emits. White light, which generally works great for hiking and camping, isn’t recommended for hunting, simply because it is more visible to animals. Instead, red or green light are the preferred options, as they don’t disturb animals as much. Some flashlights include all three colours for versatility, but if you’re forced to pick between the three, pick red. If red is not an option, choose green.

Next, you have to consider its portability and ease-of-use. Although some people prefer traditional hand-held lights, most modern hunting lights can be mounted on the gun itself. This is due to the fact that scope mounted lights are usually considered superior, simply because they free up both of your hands. Still, you want to consider the size, design and overall weight of the light you’re looking at. You want something that’s compact and easy-to-use.

Lastly, you want to consider the construction, durability and battery life of the hunting flashlight. The construction should be rugged so that it withstands drops and shocks without getting damaged, which is why you need to be looking at the overall durability and strength of the design. The battery life matters because you don’t want to be left without illumination right after you’ve spotted your prey. The energy efficiency of LED lights is what makes them the best hunting lights.

If you are just starting out with car modelling, trying to sort out through all the available options of tools and materials can be overwhelming. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll be glad that there is no type of model cars Australia doesn’t have as the hobby is fairly widespread and you can find a scale model car of almost any type produced in the world. Because of the wide range of products used in the car modelling process, it is a must to know how and which tools to use and how to store them. This can be helpful for creating more precise models and making the whole process more enjoyable in general.

Getting Started

The tools that you will need to create your models are: hobby knife, budget paint brushes, sanding sticks, needle-file set, sandpaper assortment, masking tape, rubber bands, toothpicks, tweezers, spray paint, paint set, thinner, model cement, white glue, scissors and respirator mask. This whole list will cost you around 70$. And mind you, this set will make sure you’re set for all modelling projects in the future. Since there are so many model cars Australia hobbyists can get their hands on, paying this initial cost and then simply having the tools ready for all upcoming projects is totally worth it.

Storage

Once you have all of your tools, you’ll need a place to store them. For your tools you can use a large fishing-tackle or an old tool box, just make sure that every tool has its own ”home” and is always stored in the same place. This is very important because most of the tools and parts you will be working with are very small and having them stored properly can help you out with your speed and productivity. Organization and labelling are your best friends when it comes to sorting through small parts and tools.

Workspace

For this purpose, you’ll just need a large workbench and a place to put it where no one will bother you. Make sure to set up your workbench somewhere where you can get plenty of light and enough room to work. Natural light is very nice, but you are going to need to fix a lamp to your desk in order to get a sufficient amount of light. Also, make sure to use LED light for your lamp as it is much brighter and your lamp will last longer. If possible, you should get a desk that can be tilted towards you as this can make things a lot easier at times and prevent you from developing back pain from bending over your desk for too long.

Watching the sun go down after a fun day of camping can be one of the most pleasurable experiences one can have. You’ve enjoyed the sunny day and spend it exploring nature and now you are ready to lie back, crack open a cold beer and have fun with your friends around the fire. Although fires can provide a beautiful source of light, it’s not enough to help illuminate your entire camp site. Flood lights are great for solving this problem as they are easy to set-up and when placed properly, they can help you get around your camp much easier. Today, you can comfortably light up your camping area choosing from a huge range of technology that is inexpensive, easy to use and economical to run.

Today, lighting technology is at its peak, with every year new models coming out that are more durable, brighter and very cost effective. This is the reason that lead to flood lights becoming so affordable and now flood lights are on the must have list for any avid camper that wishes to spend some time camping in the beautiful outdoors. With the advancements in LED and solar power technology, now we can get much better battery life and light output that puts previous counterparts to shame. Here is what you can expect from the newest models of flood lights.

Improvements in LED Lighting

The biggest advancements in light output that we have seen as of late come from LED technology. They last much longer than their previous counterparts and produce much more light while using very little power. What’s more, their popularity keeps growing and as a result, they have become even more affordable. LEDs come in many types of models, the most prominent ones being outdoor flood light fixtures and portable work flood lights.

Battery Advancements

The reason for the improvements in lighting technology is largely due to the fact that battery technology has advanced as well. Having a good power source has allowed manufacturers to build brighter and more compact light sources. From outdoor flood light fixtures to hand held flood lights, even a small pocket flash-light can now produce an obscene amount of light with today’s batteries. The batteries have become more compact and able to store much more energy and have a greater number of cycles, thus providing long lasting illumination.

Solar and Wind-up Lights

Another advancement in lighting that can now make one’s camping experience easier is the development of solar and win-up lights. The advancements in batteries and their capacity for storage is incredible and because of that there are times when some people forget to replace them on time. For these situations, it’s always a good idea to have a backup wind-up light or solar powered lamp as to make sure you always have a light source. Wind-up lights are great for lighting up your tent. The solar ones are a great option as well, you just need to remember to leave them out in the sun during the day.

It’s said that two monitors can boost your productivity, and two monitor arms can boost your health. There are many studies that support both claims, but how exactly do they accomplish that? Well if you ask a programmer how two monitors help them, they’ll probably go on for hours telling you how it makes their workflow more efficient, how they can switch between tasks more efficiently, and access more programs and files at the same time without minimising and maximising windows.

On the other hand, a 2 monitor arm will level their monitors to eye-level, thus reducing neck and eye strain, allowing them to work for more hours on end, among other things. But that’s not all, there’s much more to it, working with 2 monitors, and incorporating a 2 monitor arm into your workplace can do wonders for both your health and productivity in a few different ways.

You Get a Compact Workspace

A monitor arm makes it significantly easier to fit more monitors on a limited workdesk. Monitor arms are built to be compact, so you can fit 2 or more monitors tightly together and make more space for other hardware and have space for documents and whatnot. Similarly, monitor arms allow multiple employees to make use of a single workdesk, because they are adjustable and can accommodate more than one user.

A Focused Workspace

You can create a more focused, immersive workspace with a monitor mount. This is simply accomplished by making screens the focal point of the workspace, and allowing the people who work on them to split their work across the multiple screens. Gamers, designers, planners, streamers and many other people can benefit greatly from them.

Improved Health

As briefly aforementioned, monitor arms can improve the quality of your life, at least while working on a computer, significantly. Back and neck strain is no joke. The monitors should be at eye level, and you shouldn’t have to turn your neck too much to pay attention to both. Moreover, you can place one monitor horizontally, and the other vertically, so you aren’t stuck in an immobile position.

Additionally, you can adjust the brightness levels on both monitors accordingly, so if one monitor is positioned at an angle which receives less or more light, you can set its brightness to a lower or higher level, so it doesn’t strain your eyes.

And lastly, monitor arms allow you to alternate between sitting and standing, thus helping you avoid the sitting disease, which can take away years from your life if you live a very sedentary lifestyle. Minimising all the impact of that lifestyle is key to improved health and productivity.

A shaft power calculator is an instrument that calculates the propeller output power by measuring the shaft torque and rotational speed. The most common use of this instrument is found in ships, and thanks to them, the ships can have output power control. Usually, these systems are installed into a ship during the very process of its construction.

To calculate the torque inside the propeller shaft, you’ll need to grade the surface strain. The strain is caused by the twisting of the shaft since the torque forces that come from the inside are proportional to it. For the purpose of measuring the speed, the shaft power calculator has a magnetic pick-up and toothed ring that is installed near the shaft. This ring generates pulse train which frequency is on a parallel level with the speed of the rotation. At the moment, shaft power calculators use a computer and data system to complete this task with the highest precision possible.

Shaft power calculators consist of the following parts.

Rotor Unit

The calculation of the torque is done by using the strain gauges that come from the propeller shaft. After that, the signal is amplified and converted into a frequency signal. The adjustment of the shaft calculator and the offset ranges is done by the multi-turn potentiometers. Afterwards, the signal is amplified and modulated and used as an RF carrier signal, which is later delivered to an aerial. The rotor unit generally uses analogue components.

Stator Unit

This is the part that demodulates the torque signal, which is performed inside the primary coil, aided by the power driver. The shaft speed is measured by the magnetic sensors and activated by the ring of the teeth inside the rotor unit.

Data Signal Processing Unit

This part of the shaft consists of computer parts and commercial data acquisition card. This is where the signal is converted from analogue to digital format and transferred through the compatible interface for calculation. Afterwards, the data is transferred to another port and displayed on the monitor.

With the advancement of technology, the shaft power calculator has become more simplified and easy to use. This was achieved thanks to the introduction of the micro-controlling component and because of this there is reduced cost and less manufacturing time. Also, the simplified process lowers the commissioning cost and reduces the maintenance expenses of the company.

Thanks to the shaft power, calculators power inputs are now safer and more controlled. Even though this is a complex system, it is user-friendly and engineers can use it right away without getting any special training.

The device that converts the angular motion or position of an axle or shaft to a digital or analog code is called a rotary encoder. There are two main types of rotary encoders: incremental and absolute. The output of absolute encoders shows the current position of the shaft, which makes them angle transducers. The output of the incremental encoders on the other hand, provides information about the movement of the shaft, which is usually further processed elsewhere into information such as position, distance and speed.

Rotary encoders are used in many applications which require very precise shaft unlimited rotation – including robotics, industrial controls, computer input devices, controlled stress rheometers, special purpose photographic lenses and rotating radar platforms. There are 4 types of encoder technologies: optical, conductive, on-axis magnetic and off-axis magnetic.

Optical Encoder Technology

The optical encoder technology uses the light which shines into a photodiode through slits in a glass or metal disc. Reflective versions are also available on the market. The optical encoder technology is one of the more commonly used encoder technologies, and they’re very sensitive to dust.

Conductive Encoder Technology

This technology enforces a series of circumferential copper tracks which are etched onto a PCB to encode information. Contact brushes sense these conductive areas, which makes it the go-to option for user input in digital multimeters.

On-Axis Magnetic

This is a technology that typically uses specially magnetised 2 pole neodymium magnets. These magnets are the same size as the motor shaft, which typically requires a custom motor shaft to be used. The accuracy isn’t all that good and doesn’t allow many resolution options. It doesn’t typically offer Z or UVW pulse outputs due, and there’s a lot of jitter on the output due to the 2 pole magnets which cause internal interpolation.

Off-Axis Magnetic

The off-axis magnetic technology employs the use of rubber bonded ferrite magnets which are attached to a metal hub, which offers flexibility in low cost and design for custom applications. Thanks to this flexibility, many off-axis encoder chips can be programmed to accept any number of pole widths so the chip can be put in any position required for the application. This technology can operate in harsh environments where the optical technology fails to work.

To summarize, these technologies are used to track the position of the motor shaft on permanent magnet brushless motors that are very commonly used in robots, CNC machines and other industrial equipment. Incremental encoders are used on the induction type servomotors and absolute encoders are used on permanent magnet brushless motors.

Recent advances in lighting technologies have made it much safer for construction professionals who used to rely on lanterns and flashlights by offering new and improved lighting tools and features to illuminate their way in low-light conditions. Both, new hand-held flashlights and flood lights, can be used in any environment, as they feature an unprecedented amount of safety applications and features. In this article, we’ll discuss the important role that light plays in construction sites and which type of lighting is best.

Manufacturing, construction and other industrial sites, can be extremely unsafe for workers, so increasing the safety there is crucial. Today, thanks to LED technology, conditions have never been better. Low-quality, high heat-emitting incandescent light bulbs are now replaced by high-lumen, low-heat LED bulbs. Better yet, now you have the option to install floodlights all over the construction site as they deliver exceptional amounts of illumination which is evenly spread. You can buy flood lights online, or at an electrical supplier store.

When you’re looking to buy flood lights online, there are a few things to consider, like the beam angle, colour temperature, their energy efficiency, whether they’re dimmable, whether their housing can be adjusted, whether they can be motion activated and especially whether they come with a warranty or not. Every manufacturer should offer their product with warranty, especially since the lights will be used in tougher conditions.

However, floodlights are not your only option, as LED headlamps are also very convenient for these working conditions. They are easy to use, lightweight, and allow you to use both hands. Moreover, headlamps offer a choice between flood and spot beans for distance or close-up lighting, low and high modes, and can be powered by alkaline, ion-lithium rechargeable batteries.

Besides having the proper lighting support on the construction site, I think it should go without saying that all employees that do construction work should wear some sort of face and eye protection, such as a construction helmet and safety goggles, puncture resistant footwear, gloves that promote dexterity, and a safety harness that complies with all the worker safety regulations in your state.

As safety and light technology evolves at such a rapid pace, procurement managers have to keep up with all the newest innovations to help ensure the safety of their employees in construction and manufacturing environments. When employees are well-trained and equipped with the latest floodlights, headlamps and protection equipment, they can perform their jobs much more effectively.

For years we have been reading, eating and relaxing under the yellowish hue of traditional incandescent lights. And the only contact we had with something more colourful regarding light, were Christmas lights. But, yellowish lighting is now a thing of the past. Or at least that’s what I want it to be. With the invention of LED technology, lighting has come a long way and today we have a wide choice of options that suit different occasions and styles.

The latest trend in LED lighting are LED light strips. The best thing about them is that they are incredibly thin and flexible, as well as easy to install on places where other types of lighting don’t fit. And just like all LED products, they are very durable and can last up to 50 000 hours.

The proliferation of affordable, luminous and multicoloured LED light strips has given us a new perspective and entirely changed the way we play with home décor. Whatever it is they adorn, it’s sure to look cool and futuristic. And when set up right, LED light strips can also make your home look more beautiful and sophisticated. Lighting up several areas with these lights is a nice way to make them stand out and create a more unique ambiance. Here are some examples.

Enlighten that Kitchen

LED strips are just the right size and shape to serve as under-cabinet lighting as they are subtle and give a unique flare to the entire setup. If you have a unique backsplash design, it will be further accentuated with these lights shining on it. Besides being stylish and able to fit in the small space under the cabinets, what makes LED light strips the best option for kitchens is the fact that they can withstand high levels of moisture.

Create an Interesting Living Room

LED strips are becoming more and more popular as living room décor elements. For that reason, a lot of furniture designs use them as accent features. But for the sake of creative freedom, it’s best that you add them separately. Cabinets, console tables and wall mounted ornaments will be more noticeable and will stand out in the dark with a LED strip around them.

A good trick is putting these strips around your TV – this way your eyes won’t hurt so bad when you watch your favourite show in the dark. Plus, it will make your living room look much cooler. If you feel like engaging your creative side, consider adding wall silhouettes accented with LED strips. Just for inspiration, take a look how one father managed to surprise his kids with LED silhouettes (http://imgur.com/a/KGosg). The results are stunning!

With the help of LED accent strips you can transform your living room into a more intimate space and change the privacy levels as you please. One strip under the couch can be just the right dose to create a more romantic ambiance. Simply turn off your ceiling lights and let the soft glow of the strips create a comfortable ambience to relax in.

The days of lugging extra batteries whenever you decide to go climbing, jogging, camping, cycling or doing similar activities in the dark, are long gone and so over. When you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but darkness, you will need as much as light as possible and you’ll want to be able to freely move your body. So instead of carrying a torch, you can do it the smarter way and get yourself a headlamp.

Today, headlamps that can be recharged via USB are probably the best sort of evolution in the battery industry. If things go wrong when you’re out there in the dark far away from home, you’ll want to have a headlamp with a long-lasting battery that you will be confident it will serve its purpose. I believe it’s worth buying one that will make a difference under conditions that are less than ideal and will serve you good in case things go south. The ideal choice? Rechargeable headlamps. Here’s why.

Save Money

It is no lie that the price tag of rechargeable headlamps is higher than the one of their alkaline-only-powered counterpart, however, they are a smart investment that will definitely pay off in the long run. Rechargeable Li-ion packs will be good for about a couple of hundred of cycles, which means you won’t have to constantly spend money on disposable batteries.

Save Space and Weigh Less

Even if you take a few alkaline batteries with you on your journey as an alternative, rechargeable batteries will spare you the weight of carrying a pack of AAAs. Moreover, they will not spill out of their package into your backpack. Although you may think that carrying a portable USB power bank with you can be just as bulky as carrying a supply of disposable batteries, the thing is, a charger is much simpler to store and keep organized in a backpack than a handful of batteries.

Versatile

If your headlamp is powered by AAAs only, you’ll be in trouble if you run out of batteries. Rechargeable batteries can also run out of juice, however, most rechargeable headlamps can be also powered by alkaline batteries as an alternative. But even if everything is alright and nothing goes wrong with your headlamp, it is always a good idea to be have various charging options because sometimes you don’t know what sources you will have when out there.

Confidence in Battery Life

Once you head on your journey, thinking whether your batteries will last you the entire trip can be quite unnerving. Many people replace their batteries that are probably still half-full just to be certain, which is so inefficient. With rechargeable headlamps you won’t ever have this kind of a problem.

We all know the infrared technology is nothing new, but it became particularly popular around the early 2010s and since scientists developed the modern sauna thanks to it, we have quite the reason to love it. Almost every well-equipped gym around the world, as well as all four star hotels and spas started installing infrared saunas and today, seven years after, the infrared sauna craze is still going strong just as it was back then.

Instead of warming the air in a place where the heat is to later on transfer to the body (this is the traditional method), the infrared sauna works its magic through emissions from the infrared light that belongs to the invisible spectrum of colors that unlike the ultraviolet, are not harmful at all.

The color absorbs around 80% to 93% of the skin’s surface, which means that high temperatures, like the ones in traditional saunas, are not necessary. This is why many people are opting for a portable infrared home sauna that they can enjoy in any part of the house, whenever they want to. The infrared home sauna is a practical and affordable device that can change your everyday routine for the better, so instead of slouching on the couch after a hard day at work, you can reap all the benefits this portable sauna offers and feel like a true royalty afterwards.

One of the main benefits of the infrared sauna is that it purifies the cells from all accumulated toxins. According to many studies, sweating can eliminate toxins such as arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Apart from this, detoxification helps repair the damage caused by these toxins, helps the body regenerate the cells and tissues and strengthens the immune system. This means that infrared sauna can also help you combat all kinds of skin problems and disorders such as acne, eczema and psoriasis.

Finally, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that by choosing to use an infrared sauna one can notice better and some say even quicker result rather than with traditional ones thanks to the implementation of the goodies latest technologies offer. Yes, I know what you might be thinking right now and, believe me, it’s true: a sauna session a day, keeps illnesses at bay and the doctor away. So what are you waiting for? Let all those toxins out of your body and enjoy a relaxing spa day in the comfort of your own home whenever and however you want to!

As a photographer, the center of your universe is your camera bag and its contents. Of course your DSLRs, your lenses and your flashlights are the most common equipment in your bag, but being passionate about photography doesn’t stop there, right? Finding new ways of making your photos even better is essential for every photographer, no matter whether you’re still an amateur or a professional. Cameras, lenses and flashlights aside, there are other important items that should be part of every photographer’s “rescue kit”, so if you’re willing to update your photography equipment with new and interesting gear, you’ve come to the right place.

Photo Printer

In the era of uploading millions of photos online, we somehow forgot about the fresh smell of actual photography. Fortunately, there are many nostalgic people who still like to touch and feel their photos and order them by date in their photo albums or hang them around the house. You will definitely encounter clients that want actual, not just digital photos, so having your own printer will be a great advantage. Also, pay attention to the type of ink cartridges you use because without them you can wave goodbye to your beautiful photos that you worked so hard on.

Telephoto Lens

A telephoto lens is designed for taking photographs of distant subjects. Normally these lenses are used for taking photos of wildlife, concerts, all kinds of sporting events or any other circumstances where the photographer can’t get close to the subject. Getting closer to your subject with a zoom telephoto lens will isolate your subject but at the same time it will draw attention to it. Normal lenses don’t always give you this luxury, that’s why these lenses are crucial for a good photography shot.

Battery Grip

This is a handy and very useful accessory is to be mounted on the bottom of your DSLR camera and it’s used to hold an extra battery. Nobody wants to change the battery in the middle of a shoot, that’s why this little and very practical item is a must for every photographer. Plus, battery grips have an extra shutter button, which means that when you’re turning the camera on its side to take a vertical shot, the shutter button will be on the top – exactly where you’re used to having it.

Folding Reflectors

These easy-to-use reflectors will allow you to fill shadows and perform a variety of lightning effects. Whether you’re indoors or out, the folding reflectors simply use the light available and help create beautiful shadow details with soft-neutral, contrast-neutral or warm-toned illumination. The great thing about these accessories is that they are easy to transport since, as the name suggests, they can be folded, which means you can carry them around wherever you go.

All hail Thomas Newcomen who invented the steam engine in 1713 and initiated the era we call Industrial Revolution. This introduction of machine-based production helped propel society light years ahead of how it was back then. But this was only a stepping stone between manual labour and the amazing future that lied ahead. Today we are pushing faster and further ahead with automation control systems paving the way.

Automation control systems are the combination of computers and mechanical parts used in tasks such as operating machines, production processes, boilers, telephone networks, steering ships and other vehicles. These systems allow you to instantly and simultaneously undertake various tasks only with the push of a button and often there is no need for any human participation besides observing.

But not only does automation save labour, it also eliminates the possibility of human error. There is just a limited amount of information that our brains can take and normally a person can forget to perform a seemingly simple task, but automated machines have the capacity to remember each step correctly without missing anything. That’s why all the successful factories and businesses make sure to invest in quality automation control systems so that their operations run as smoothly and accurately as possible.

Furthermore, they reduce the time necessary for a production process to be completed, which significantly increases the amount of mass production. Plus, the fact that they are accurate and precise saves material and energy which can significantly reduce the cost of production. Automated systems rarely wear down and the ones that don’t need human supervision can be active 24/7. That is a big advantage in this fast-paced age.

Another advantage of these systems is that they can be used in tasks dangerous for humans to be involved in. These processes include spray painting vehicles, oil refining, fertilizer production, dealing with toxic chemicals and everything else that can pose as a risk to the health. Automated systems are even used in operating bomb disposal robots. There is just no task that they can’t perform.

You may not think about it too much, but automated machines are all around us. You interact with one regularly, whether it’s an ATM, the thermostat controlling your boiler, the switchboard operating your telephone call, the escalator in your local mall – they are simply an integral part of our daily lives. And we’ve grown so used to all these convenient appliances that we cannot imagine our lives without them anymore.

But that’s not where automated control systems stop. Everyday we hear about some new amazing invention that couldn’t be possible without them. Just think about what else the future might hold thanks to this technological wonder of automation.

When it comes to mold, many people tend to overlook or ignore the fact that there is a number of health risks that can be linked to them. It is believed that allergic reactions are the most common symptoms because mold produces irritating substances that can act as allergens. Since these fungi grow in damp, warm, and humid environments, basements, laundry rooms, and bathrooms are one of their favourite habitats, which means that your home can easily become infested with many different types of household mold if it isn’t properly protected.

As I mentioned before, bathrooms (particularly shower stalls) are one of the most common areas where mold thrives. That’s precisely why you should do everything it takes to stop its growth before you or your loved ones develop severe reactions to mold exposure. Installing a fan is without a doubt the most effective way to deal with this potential problem.

A high-quality exhaust fan mounted in the ceiling can offer you a number of amazing benefits. First of all, it can pull the moist air out of your bathroom and thus leave the air too dry for household molds to grow. Furthermore, a bathroom exhaust fan can exhaust smelly air, allowing fresher, more pleasant air to enter the room. It can also save you the bother of wiping down your bathroom mirrors every time you finish taking a hot shower.

If you’re worried that a bathroom exhaust fan might your ruin your bathroom’s décor or cost a lot of money, you will be glad to learn that there are plenty of tastefully designed and affordable bathroom exhaust fans that come with included features like heater and light. A nice bathroom exhaust fan heater light will provide your bathroom/toilet room with warmth and bright light and help remove unpleasant odor and moisture. These models are extremely popular these days for installing a bathroom exhaust fan heater light is a smart and economical way of controlling the humidity caused by showers/tubs, whirlpools, and toilets.

Bathroom exhaust fans should be placed near tubs/showers and whirlpools and left running for twenty to thirty minutes after the use of these items.

When shopping for a bathroom exhaust fan, you should look for a properly sized, energy-efficient, and quiet one. Although installing a bathroom exhaust fan is not a difficult task, you might want to consider hiring a professional handyman to do this job for you.

Having a DSLR camera at your disposal would be of no use if you have no idea how to operate with it and use it to create photos as special as the moments you capture. For me, it was a couple of months after my first child was born when I realized how much I wanted to take professional photos of him. Moments such as the first crawling, giggling, the cute faces he makes and whatnot, may seem ordinary to most people, but to newbie mommies, they’re precious and a real treasure on their own.

So, I decided to invest in a quality camera equipment. And God was I relieved when my Nikon was delivered right at my doorstep, all brand new and ready to help me turn all the precious moments into memories I can have right in front of my eyes whenever I want to. Literally. Here’s what’s so great about my Nikon.

Motion Snapshots

One of the coolest features of Nikon DSLR cameras is their Motion Snapshot mode. It blends one second of video together with a still image, creating a unique way to view your memories. These cameras allow you even to choose a themed music as the background of the slide, and to save the files to your computer later.

Picture Controls

This feature allows you to modify the way the camera perceives colour and is accessible through the Picture Control menu. You can choose from vivid, monochrome, neutral, portrait, standard and landscape settings and change them as much as you like. Picture controls work on both video movies or still images and allow you to adjust the contrast, sharpening, saturation, brightness and hue for every following photo.

Slow-Motion and Time-Lapse

Certain Nikon COOLPIX DSLR cameras come with a slow motion feature that allows you to take and play video in slow motion. Many Nikon DSLR camera models also allow you to shoot in timed intervals, so you can assemble individual images together to create a time-lapse video (a popular way to showcase the movement of the stars in the sky).

Special Effects

It has never been easier to add fun and special effects to your photographs and videos than it is today with Nikon cameras.. Effect modes such as fisheye, miniature, and selective colour allow you to create unique and beautiful images. You can use these effects while shooting videos and still photos and are actually visible in real time, enabling you to see how your photos and videos will actually look like while shooting them. Therefore, you will no longer need to use a complicated software to add a dose of creativity to your work.

But making creative and nice photographs goes way beyond having a good camera and knowing when to take a shot. To fully enjoy their splendor and have them to look back on the good days and memories, you need to print them. It is funny how in today’s world of advanced technology, people disregard the fact that the photo they took, if not printed, is most likely to not survive. The photos posted online are only good for a certain period of time, but I want to be able to look back one day and relive these moments and remember exactly how I felt at that moment. That’s exactly why I print my photos. Yes, owning a printer and investing in ink cartridges costs money but it also enables me to go back to my happy days time and time again. Take care of your old memories and don’t forget to take snaps of the new ones.

The primary function of a planetary gearbox set is to perform various operations, including deceleration, reversing, acceleration and direct connection in applications such as gearhead motors, turbine engines, car mirrors, automatic transaxle vehicles and many others. The set itself consists from planetary gears, brakes and clutches. The gears are connected to the clutches and brakes which are designed to control the amount of power delivered to the gear sets. Planetary units are particularly useful in cases when space and weight as opposed to reduction and torque are the primary concerns for the proper operation of one application. To get a better insight into the uses and features of the planetary gearbox set it’s essential to first examine its construction and mechanisms.

In terms of construction the most basic model of planetary gearbox consists of three types of gears: a sun gear, planet gears (along with the gears’ carriers) and a ring gear. Arranged around the central axis of rotation, the planet gears are designed to connect with the sun and fixed ring gear. They are mounted on a rotating component, known as cage or carrier, whose function is to produce high-torque output at a low speed. The set of connected gears rotating around the sun gear is very similar to the planets orbiting around the sun, hence the name planetary gearbox. The three main types of gears can function as a power input or output, while in some cases are maintained static. The function that each of these has in the overall operation of the planetary gearbox set defines the gear ratio. By changing the input, output and static elements, the gear unit is able to perform a variety of operations. Let’s take a look at how each operation is performed .

Deceleration

The planetary gearbox is able to decelerate when the sun gear is fixed, while the ring gears provide the power input and the carrier delivers the output. With the sun gear being static, only the planet gears can rotate, thus slowing down the output shaft in proportion to the input.

Reverse

For the gearbox to perform reverse operations, the planetary carrier should be held stationary, while the sun gear delivers the input and the ring gear provides the power output. When the carrier is in a static position while at the same time the sun gear turns, the planet gears rotate around its axis and as a result their direction of rotation is reversed.

Acceleration

The gearbox can accelerate when the sun gear is in a fixed position with the planetary carrier providing the power input and the ring gears the output. In this case the carrier turns clockwise causing the planet gears to rotate around the sun gear in the same direction. How much the ring gear accelerates will depend on the number of teeth on the ring and sun gears.

Direct connection

The gearbox can provide direct connection when both the sun and ring gear provide the power input, while the carrier has the function to deliver the output. Rotating at equal speeds, the ring and sun gear connect together and as a result the planetary carrier is able to turn at the same speed as well.

With the increased use of the Internet and electronic documents, it seems as if paper is not as necessary as it was years ago. However, many people look at printers as an essential tool (be it for business, school or home purposes) which can be a total life saver. Having a printed material with data in front of you, is certainly more convenient, secure, and easier to read. And according to business experts, definitely more effective.

But there is the disadvantage of being a more costly solution. It’s not just about the matter of buying a printer and paper, but you also need to pay for ink. Depending on how often you print, printer ink cartridges usually last anywhere from few weeks to few months.

Although the frequency with which you print and the type of prints you do may be one of the major factors that affect the life span of an ink cartridge, the type of printer ink cartridges you use also matters. Selecting the right type is often a common mistake many people make, which often ends up in spending more than they should. So before getting your printer, it’s important to educate yourself on what types of cartridges are there and what can you do to reduce their spending.

For example, there are toner and ink cartridges, which are used by inkjet and laser printers, the most commonly found type of printers in homes and offices. Toner cartridges contain dry powder, which bonds to the paper in order to print. On the other hand, ink cartridges contain liquid ink, which is applied directly to the page through the print-heads.

Furthermore, printer ink cartridges are divided into two sub-categories – single and combined. In most cases, black is a single unit, while all the colours are in combined units. This is extremely beneficial if a lot of text is being printed, but not a lot of colour printing is done. By taking advantage of this mechanism, you can replace the black cartridge without touching the colour cartridges, which will save you some money. And while most expensive printers can use up to eight colours, most basic printers use black, yellow, blue and red to produce all the colours of the spectrum.

Additionally, you should always look to buy ink cartridges that are produced by the manufacturer of your printer. They tend to be superior in quality, are less likely to damage your printer, and are sure to fit the model of the printer they were designed for. They have the best print quality and have a low chance to create a bad print. However, this comes at the price of money, because OEM ink cartridges tend to be more expensive. For people who value quality and precise printing, they should highly consider OEM cartridges.

To conclude, you need to do some research if you have no experience and knowledge about printers and printer cartridges, as buying the printer is only a small percentage of the money you will spend on printing. You need to understand how your printer works (read the manual) if you want to make the right cartridge purchases, to ensure you get quality prints while saving as much money as possible.

Before we go into more detail about the best lead, you need to get a hold of all information you need to know on how HDMI to DVI cables work. Firstly, you probably want to send video from your computer to your TV. Many computers have DVI output, however, many TV monitors have primary each HDMI inputs. If you have DVI I or DVI D video output, then you will need good quality HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI was the standard connection format back in 1998, but after the great advancement of technology it was soon replaced by HDMI. Nevertheless, a lot of PC monitors still come with DVI ports even today. The DVI comes in a couple of modes such as DVI-D that is used only with a digital signal, DVI-A that uses analogue signal and DVI-I that uses both digital and analogue signal.

Within the last couple of years, all TVs and computer monitors have started supporting both HDMI and DVI connections. HDMI is in fact an abbreviation that stands for high definition multimedia interface, that can transmit both video and audio signals. However, a lot of people have older laptops, or just multimedia laptops that use DVI out port. For this reason, there are special HDMI to DVI cables or converters that you can attach to your PC and TV and without a problem transfer any type of signal.

If you have an older PC or monitor and want to connect it to your HD TV, you will need good quality HDMI to DVI cable or connector. Below we will go through a brief description of the best connector that Australian retailers have to offer, so you will not waste precious time to find the most reliable and quality solution.

INTRODUCING – PRO2 HDMI TO DVI-D LEAD

One of the best features of the PRO2 HDMI is that it has a DVI-D lead, which means it can transfer both audio and video signals at the same time. The 19 pink HDMI-A to DVI-D dual cable offers you the best video quality whether you are projecting a presentation, watching a movie or playing a video game on your big HD TV screen. The PRO 2 HDMI has integrated ferrite beats on both sides, so the interference effect is minimised. The manufacturers have used a gold plated copper on both ends, so it would lower the contact resistance.

Without the proper information, people make mistakes and buy cables that not only work improperly but damage their PC and TV. However, through the help of this article, you have the proper knowledge to choose the right cable and save yourself from unnecessary damages and receive good quality video and audio signal.

An inspection camera, or the technical term “borescope”, is exactly what you’re probably imagining when you say the word: it’s a small camera attached on a cable that’s designed to be used for seeing and inspecting places you can’t see with a naked eye. Think deep narrow holes, drains, underneath appliances, dark wall cavities and similar. It’s the type of instrument you want to own so you can make your life and job as a plumber or electrician a lot more easy and attractive for doing.

What exactly is an inspection camera?

It’s actually a kind of scope made of a tiny head, or a brain, that’s attached to a cable that holds the camera, and a LED light which is designed to provide the much needed illumination when the scope reaches the dark spaces. There are simpler models of inspection cameras for people who need to look and inspect more simpler and shallower drains and holes; people who need to do a recording of sounds and imagery, should look for a more advanced model.

What to look for when you buy one?

The important thing about an inspection camera is that it has a small head and an easily bendable cable, so you’re able to use it in more than just narrow holes, but also to go around corners and pass obstacles easily.

Make sure the cable is thick and stiff so it serves you a greater rigidity when a blockage comes on the camera’s way.

Pay attention to the cable’s length; make sure it’s a long one so you don’t have any trouble inspecting hard-to-reach locations.

The ability to zoom is rather beneficial; you want to have a clear view of any obstacle or problem.

Resolution of the camera is important so you can give a beneficial diagnosis. Along with that goes a record feature, so you can make a footage of whatever is happening in the location and analyze it by playing it again.

You really do not need to worry about charging these cameras; any type will eventually need to be charged, so whether you choose one that runs on disposable batteries, or one that’s cordless and rechargeable, it’s really up to you. The difference is that rechargeable batteries will need to be replaced only after many hours of use, and the cordless cameras take some time to get charged.

And finally, although quite handy, inspection cameras aren’t suitable for every job. They shouldn’t be used in wet environments, and on sites where abrasives and chemicals are used frequently. There are some models that are labelled as able to endure exposure to such substances, but still, make sure you talk to the seller about the issue.

So, you have been bitten by the photography bug and you want to upgrade from your camera phone and Instagram filters to a more serious camera. You probably clicked this article in the hopes of finding out what is the best camera for beginners. I am sorry to disappoint you but the simplest answer I can give you to this question is: it depends. You should understand that there is no such thing as a single best camera. However, there is the best camera for YOU and it all depends on what you want to shoot, whether you need portability or quality, do you want do get the most out of a camera, and of course how much you are willing to spend.

The type of camera you are probably familiar with and you have seen both professionals and enthusiasts use for many years is the DSLR camera. It is the digital version of the SLR film cameras which means it is compatible with a large number of lenses and they are much more affordable than buying a completely new system. What makes this camera a good choice for beginners is the auto-focus and the great level of performance given their cost.

But, even if you have decided that DSLR is the way to go, this still doesn’t solve your problem. There is a huge variety of DSLR camera models available in camera shops Melbourne wide and there are several factors you need to consider before purchasing one.

Although the brand matters, you should choose a camera based on its features and not its brand. You can find cameras from a less known brand that are just as good as some of the most popular brands on the market. On the other hand, what makes the big names like Nikon or Canon so great is that they are so popular and well-established, which means there are a ton of lenses, flashes, and other camera accessories to choose from.

Another important factor to consider is the sensor size. The main reason why people choose a DSLR camera is the picture quality and exposure flexibility, which are directly affected by the sensor size and the size of each photosite. With a larger photosite surface area, the camera is able to capture more light and record more information. The amount of information that goes in the camera’s image processor determines the dynamic range in the image and the picture quality itself.

Megapixel resolution is one of the most advertised features in the media, but the megapixel count is not as important as sensor size in determining the image quality. They do, however, produce higher resolution images that allow you to print bigger photos or crop the images without ruining them. Also, keep in mind that with high megapixel cameras you will also need a bigger SD card and a pretty big hard drive to store all your pictures.

There are many other factors to consider when purchasing a DSLR camera such as lens type, how fast you can take photos and so on, but most camera shops Melbourne based have excellent customer support and would be happy to give you all the necessary advice to help you choose the DSLR camera that best fits your style and needs.

There are a few things you need to consider when you are looking to buy a long range LED torch all of which we will go over below.

Determine What You Need It For
If you are someone who is looking for an average torch just for around the house then you should probably look at something cheaper. If you are someone who will be using a flashlight for search and rescue missions, hunting, or long range vision then you will definitely need a long range LED torch with as much brightness you can get. You should base what torch you buy with what you actually need it for.

Know What Brightness You Need
Flashlights come with many different brightness settings, these are known as lumens. Depending on what you plan to actually do with the torch is also what you should base how many lumens your torch should have. Most long range torches vary from 500-1000 and up. 500 lumens is usually the minimum amount you would want for hunting, climbing, hiking, fishing, and sailing. While they are not the best option they will do the job just fine. If you are looking for some serious lighting then try to stick with something that is 1000 lumens and up.

Other Features You May Need
You should also consider other features you may need like waterproofing. You should also consider what material you want your flashlight to be made out of depending on where and what you plan on doing with it. You can easily find great plastic and rubber models but they are not as durable as something like stainless steel.

Think Of Battery Life
You also have a lot of choices when it comes to batteries. Depending on how often you want to replace them you should either choose alkaline batteries, lithium batteries, or rechargeable batteries. Alkaline batteries are great because you can find them at the supermarket so they are easy to replace. Lithium batteries have a longer run time but do cost a bit more and can be harder to find. Rechargeable batteries are the best choice because you can have power whenever you need it but they are the priciest choice.

How Much Can You Spend?
Just like anything else you really do end up getting what you pay for. If you only pay a small amount of money the chances are your torch won’t last you very long. If you pay a little bit extra the torch will end up paying itself back because you won’t need to replace it as often. You should really determine what torch to buy based on your needs and what you actually need the torch for. Hopefully, after reading this guide buying your own LED long range torch will be a bit easier.
