In the never-ending pursuit of clean, sustainable and cost-efficient energy, nothing has as much potential as our sun. The sun is basically a nuclear reactor that releases energy-packed photons, which can satisfy the global energy needs for a whole year, in just about an hour. When you think about it, that’s a lot of energy, but the challenge is finding a way to harness all of that energy effectively and efficiently. With solar energy on the rise, due to the fact that it’s becoming more affordable and more efficient, you may be considering converting your home or business operations to solar power.

However, you may have a couple of inquiries regarding moving to solar. Besides the obvious questions about finances, equipment and logistics, you may be wondering about how the system itself works and what it’s comprised of. For most people, solar panels are pretty straightforward – they harvest the energy from the sun, but are inverters? Here’s a brief overview of solar systems that’ll help get you started on your journey to converting solar energy.

Solar systems generate energy by using the photons released by the sun. Solar panels (photovoltaic) contain solar cells that are basically mini-conductors, and each cell features a positive and negative side. These sides together create an electric field. When the photons from the sun reach a solar cell, the electrons are knocked loose from the atoms, flowing in one direction around the circuit. This creates a direct current, more commonly known as DC. Each panel has multiple solar cells, and you can wire together multiple panels to form a solar panel array.

The more panels and cells you have, the more energy you can harvest and deploy. However, the power grid and most electric appliances are made to run on alternating current, more commonly known as AC. With AC, the loose electrons flow in two directions instead of one. For solar power to be applicable, the DC power needs to be converted into AC power, and this is where solar inverters come into play. Depending on the energy harvesting capacity of the solar panels, a solar system can feature either one or multiple inverters.

There are two types of solar systems – on- and off-grid systems. Even though the inverter’s function remains the same, depending on the type of system you have, you may need a different type of inverter. On-grid inverters don’t use a battery back-up, and they’re considered the heart of the system. On-grid inverters convert DC voltage from the solar panels into AC voltage that can be used right away, or be exported to the utility grid. These inverters are pretty straightforward to install and are very efficient.

Most on-grid inverters use MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, which is the most efficient type. The inverter is either connected to the grid through the building’s electrical system or directly. If it’s connected directly, the generated AC power is sent towards the grid, whereas if it’s connected to the building’s electrical system, the harnessed power is first consumed by the appliances, and the unused energy is sent to the grid. That being said, on-grid inverters need to comply with the grid’s requirements and regulations.

For instance, on-grid inverters need to be pure sine wave, and they need to stop operating immediately in the event of a grid failure. There are two types of on-grid inverters – string inverters and microinverters. String inverters treat the entire solar panel array as a single solar panel, and they’re cost-effective and simple to install. However, they have one drawback – if one of the panels gets shaded or degrades in performance, the entire array’s performance will also deteriorate. Microinverters, on the other hand, don’t have this issue as they are directly connected to each solar panel individually. But they’re also costlier to purchase and more complicated to install.

When determining the size of the inverter you need, you need to take into account the size of your solar array. Generally, you want the inverter to be of similar size to the DC coming from the array. So for instance, if you’re installing a 1000W solar system, you’ll need a 1000W sine wave inverter. If you’re installing a 3000W solar system, you’ll need a 3000W or three 1000W sine wave inverter models stacked together. Besides the size of the solar system, you also need to consider the design and site specifics of the array. The tilt and azimuth of the array will impact how much electricity the system can produce. Environmental factors such as dust, shading, etc. will also play a role in how much sun reaches the array.

Professional solar installers account for these considerations, as well as for the equipment efficiencies when estimating the production of your system. All of this will contribute towards the overall derating factor of the system, which will help determine how much actual energy your solar system can produce in real life, as opposed to the specs presented on the panels, which are estimated based on ideal conditions.

The most simple but confusing way to explain someone the 3D printing techniques of our time would be to just spit out all the different acronyms with no explanation at all. Some people mistake all these words for some electronic type of music or even associate them with different types of drugs.
But my goal here is not to mislead you into this abyss of confusion, in fact, I’ll briefly explain the most used types of technologies, with enough information so that you become familiar with the 3D printing world.

Almost 90% of the time 3D printer FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) is the technology used in domestic environments. Although FFF is not entirely a category on its own, it resembles a lot of the characteristics of its main technology called FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling). Like for example, melting the filament and depositing it onto the build platform of the 3D Printer, however, it uses plastic filaments, either PLA (Polylactic Acid) or ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) as printing materials.

The second and oldest technology is SLA (Stereolithography), that goes hand in hand with the DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology. Their main printing material is a photoreactive (sensitive to light) resin. While the material is being layered (printed) onto the surface, it is simultaneously cured layer by layer with a light source, which makes printing speeds unmatchable from 6 to 8 hours for a small piece, and several days for a couple of meters for a long one. And all this is possible because two processes (curing and printing/ layering) are being done at once, so there’s no waiting period for the resin to harden after the printing is done.

Powder (mostly metal powder) plays a major role as a printing material in SLS (selective laser sintering), SLM (Selective Laser Melting) and EBM (Electron Beam Melting) technologies. As the name suggests, in SLS printing a laser is used to trace the pattern layer by layer on top of a print bed filled with powder. The print bed is lowered on the Z axis after the completion of each layer. This type of technology fits in a very specific niche, where its use is focused more towards various industry-based categories. It provides the needed strength and stability since it’s primary printing material is metal powder.

Bottom line is, the 3D printer FFF is the most popular option in households, while on the other hand, SLA is better for making tiny details more precisely. When it comes to SLS or any other laser-oriented technology, what you need to know is that they are mostly used in industrial settings.

We live in a digital era where digital information has almost completely replaced the standard paper documentation. For this reason, every business, whether small, medium or large, needs adequate computer storage. Moreover, the storage needs to be conveniently accessible by everyone that requires to use it, it needs to be reliable and provide efficient data storage, and it has to provide adequate backup for all the files stored in it.

In this article, we’ll talk about the benefits that Nas drives offer businesses. But they are not beneficial for businesses exclusively, you can also use them for personal use, if you work from different computers and need to have an access to your work wherever you are.

Storage

The primary usage of a Nas drive is providing more storage to the computer’s capacity. They can range in storage capacity from 100 GB to 8 or more TB. With the wide selection of options available, almost every demand can be met – from storage of video files, to huge programs for groups of people, or just creating a central server, allowing multiple users to access the extra hard drive space. Storage space is important, especially for people who think about their long-term needs, and this device addresses those needs for a group of people working in the same facility.

Reliability And Efficient Data Transfer

Network attached servers provide a group of efficient data transfer, as well as reliable network access computers. If a computer has an unexpected outage or completely dies, a network attached server will continue running and allowing other computers to access the shared data. They also create a central hub for a group of people to share large files and folders with minimum effort. The simple drag-and-drop method into the shared network allows all computers to connect to the NAS and access the data.

Data Backup

A lot of NAS servers come with configurations which allow automatic backup of data. A copied file can exist both on an individual computer and on the server hard drive. And when you change the file on the computer, it can be changed on the server hard drive as well. This can be done either through a wireless network or a connective ethernet cable. This adds a great deal of functionality and security.

Extra Protection

NAS servers can feature encryption software, adding an extra layer of protection to your data, making it harder to breach the average computer. Moreover, anything stored on it is protected not only from outside attacks, but also from corrupted files if one of the computers and hardware malfunctions. If you accidentally spill water on your computer and damage it, the data won’t be completely lost, as it will be safely stored on the NAS. And while external computers can manipulate files, the file is still stored on the NAS, not the external computer.

It’s undeniable how much our lives have changed thanks to technology. For starters, it makes communication and shopping a great deal easier even when there’s distance in the way, makes for quick payment of bills and money transfer, fast check-ins and appointments at the doctor’s and hairdresser’s, instant access to all sorts of information enabling easier studies, travel plans and ticket purchasing, including creating job opportunities, allowing for people to work online from their homes, that no one could have imagined before. This indicates how our lives have become somewhat simpler, all thanks to the use of electronics which have taken over the TV in importance, and yet it’s all fun and games until something goes wrong with our computer, like the occurrence of a virus for instance.

A virus can be quite the nuisance, disrupting your computer’s work, and while it can be a harmless one resulting in simply slowing down your computer’s functional capacity, it can also be damaging by deleting and corrupting your valuable data and preventing you from using the computer altogether. The solution lies in either your hands or do as businesses do and get computer support with the adequate computer virus removal service coverage. Unlike in the very beginning of viruses, such as when the Pakistani brothers Alvi created the Brain, viruses nowadays are as advanced as technology so practically no computer is safe, not even Macs.

Online criminals never rest, always coming up with upgraded versions of old viruses, with the latest products being viruses in the likes of AFP (Australian Federal Police), holding a computer owner to ransom and requiring payment of 100 euros through funds transfer, the ransom-ware virus that basically works the same way, encrypting the whole computer data and demanding a fee to be paid, or the Microsoft call scam wanting to get access to your PC. Unless you want to end up further complicating the problem by taking matters into your own hands, it’s best to resort to professional IT help and get the proper computer virus removal service as it encompasses so much more once the virus is removed, such as providing you with the adequate security tailored to your needs, the right anti-virus software and a backup strategy protecting your data.

Most often, computer owners aren’t aware of the potential threat and since most viruses actually get to infect thanks to the owners’ approval, it’s the owners who unknowingly are lured into making way for the virus in their computers. It’s important to watch out for warning signs to be able to detect the problem earlier on and act before it gets worse. Warning signs can be a computer slowdown, unwanted websites accessed, receiving unusual messages or high network activity, and even computer crashes, so be aware.

Before we go into more detail about the best lead, you need to get a hold of all information you need to know on how HDMI to DVI cables work. Firstly, you probably want to send video from your computer to your TV. Many computers have DVI output, however, many TV monitors have primary each HDMI inputs. If you have DVI I or DVI D video output, then you will need good quality HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI was the standard connection format back in 1998, but after the great advancement of technology it was soon replaced by HDMI. Nevertheless, a lot of PC monitors still come with DVI ports even today. The DVI comes in a couple of modes such as DVI-D that is used only with a digital signal, DVI-A that uses analogue signal and DVI-I that uses both digital and analogue signal.

Within the last couple of years, all TVs and computer monitors have started supporting both HDMI and DVI connections. HDMI is in fact an abbreviation that stands for high definition multimedia interface, that can transmit both video and audio signals. However, a lot of people have older laptops, or just multimedia laptops that use DVI out port. For this reason, there are special HDMI to DVI cables or converters that you can attach to your PC and TV and without a problem transfer any type of signal.

If you have an older PC or monitor and want to connect it to your HD TV, you will need good quality HDMI to DVI cable or connector. Below we will go through a brief description of the best connector that Australian retailers have to offer, so you will not waste precious time to find the most reliable and quality solution.

INTRODUCING – PRO2 HDMI TO DVI-D LEAD

One of the best features of the PRO2 HDMI is that it has a DVI-D lead, which means it can transfer both audio and video signals at the same time. The 19 pink HDMI-A to DVI-D dual cable offers you the best video quality whether you are projecting a presentation, watching a movie or playing a video game on your big HD TV screen. The PRO 2 HDMI has integrated ferrite beats on both sides, so the interference effect is minimised. The manufacturers have used a gold plated copper on both ends, so it would lower the contact resistance.

Without the proper information, people make mistakes and buy cables that not only work improperly but damage their PC and TV. However, through the help of this article, you have the proper knowledge to choose the right cable and save yourself from unnecessary damages and receive good quality video and audio signal.

An inspection camera, or the technical term “borescope”, is exactly what you’re probably imagining when you say the word: it’s a small camera attached on a cable that’s designed to be used for seeing and inspecting places you can’t see with a naked eye. Think deep narrow holes, drains, underneath appliances, dark wall cavities and similar. It’s the type of instrument you want to own so you can make your life and job as a plumber or electrician a lot more easy and attractive for doing.

What exactly is an inspection camera?

It’s actually a kind of scope made of a tiny head, or a brain, that’s attached to a cable that holds the camera, and a LED light which is designed to provide the much needed illumination when the scope reaches the dark spaces. There are simpler models of inspection cameras for people who need to look and inspect more simpler and shallower drains and holes; people who need to do a recording of sounds and imagery, should look for a more advanced model.

What to look for when you buy one?

The important thing about an inspection camera is that it has a small head and an easily bendable cable, so you’re able to use it in more than just narrow holes, but also to go around corners and pass obstacles easily.

Make sure the cable is thick and stiff so it serves you a greater rigidity when a blockage comes on the camera’s way.

Pay attention to the cable’s length; make sure it’s a long one so you don’t have any trouble inspecting hard-to-reach locations.

The ability to zoom is rather beneficial; you want to have a clear view of any obstacle or problem.

Resolution of the camera is important so you can give a beneficial diagnosis. Along with that goes a record feature, so you can make a footage of whatever is happening in the location and analyze it by playing it again.

You really do not need to worry about charging these cameras; any type will eventually need to be charged, so whether you choose one that runs on disposable batteries, or one that’s cordless and rechargeable, it’s really up to you. The difference is that rechargeable batteries will need to be replaced only after many hours of use, and the cordless cameras take some time to get charged.

And finally, although quite handy, inspection cameras aren’t suitable for every job. They shouldn’t be used in wet environments, and on sites where abrasives and chemicals are used frequently. There are some models that are labelled as able to endure exposure to such substances, but still, make sure you talk to the seller about the issue.

Although when a tablet first appeared on the market, analyst predicted a not so favourable future for this ‘cross between notebook and PC’ gadget, over the years it proved to be a very useful device. Aside from unlimited capabilities, it is reliable, functional, portable and affordable. To make it even more convenient, there is a plethora of accessories. However, none is more essential than a tablet case.

You can can either get one directly from the store you’ve purchased your tablet from or buy tablet cases from online retailers. Keep in mind that online shopping offers you a better opportunity to compare various models and brands than brick and mortar stores that may also be limited in the models and designs they offer and have in stock.

Although an inexpensive investment, a tablet or iPad case can make wonders for your tablet. It will prevent excess dirt and dust from sticking to the screen or keyboard of the tablet as well as protect the tablet from extensive damage in case it is dropped. If you tend to toss your tablet in a bag or purse, it can quickly get covered in lint. Plus, when not handled with care, the screen can easily get scratched. Hence, investing in a tablet case is the best way to protect your device.

There is a wide range of models, from cases that look like bookbindings to simple folders that hold the tablet; cases that zip around to cases that have chunky buttons a latch fits over; cases made of real leather to cases made of synthetic material. Here are few of the most popular brands.

Pelican

Pelican holds a reputation for the toughest Polymer injection molded tablet cases in the world. Their tablet cases are tested to military specifications, meaning they can survive multiple drops and resist water and momentary immersion. Featuring elastomeric copolymer rubber interior, their cases are able to absorb shock and impact screen protection.

Moleskin

Moleskin is a brand well known for its journals and schedulers that have also become famous with the launch of its tablet cases. The company’s latest design is the Lego pattern, which beyond quality is also fun and great for young ones.

Vera Bradley

Vera Bradley is popular for her wild colours and quilted patterns. The brand also makes cases for tablets that can stand alone or match an accompanying purse. While the brand is more suited to female customers, it can also be used by young children as the colours are so wild and vivid.

Regardless of the size of your tablet, you will find tablet cases designed for all sizes and shapes. Your personal needs and preferences will dictate the model you choose. But remember, the main purpose is to protect your device against everyday wear and tear.

One thing that every Macbook owner knows is that in terms of speed and performance your machine will never let you down, but there is one thing that will go slow in time and that is the SSD. While there are a lot of third-party manufacturers there, OWC and Transcend are the best known so far. Whether this is your urgent need, or you are here just for the info, this is a a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to upgrade your beloved laptop with an Apple approved SSD for Macbook Pro Retina with great durability and possibilities.

The upgrade process usually takes about 15 minutes. These steps can be used for 2011 and 2012 Macbook Pro retina and it is highly recommended to use proper anti-static precautions while performing the upgrade.

Shut down and unplug the MacBook Pro and put it on a clean and safe surface. The first thing you will need to do is to close your MacBook Pro and flip it over. On the bottom, there are 10 five-point Torx screws. There are two centre screws on the hinge edge are a little bit shorter than the others and you should remove them first and keep them at a separate location. Afterwards, you may remove the eight remaining screws. Once all the screws have been removed, you can lift the rear cover and put it aside.

The next thing you should do is detach the battery connection, which is located in the middle underneath the plastic cover. You can easily remove the cover by gently lifting it up. Underneath the plastic, there are three Torx T screws which all need to be removed. The third screw has a thick barrel which holds the plastic cover that protects the fourth screw which also needs to be removed. After you have removed this screw, you can easily separate the assembly from the logic board and disconnect the battery. You now may lift the drive ribbon cable connector to detach it from the logic board. Finally, remove the drive carrier by pushing in on the centre handle so it comes loose from the Macbook Pro and lift the entire carrier up and out of the computer. After that, put the SSD module on the anti-static surface. To remove the module, you will first need to remove the Torx T screw that is located on upper left corner. Afterwards, lift the fire end of the module using your SSD kit tool and gently pull the drive out of its slot.

On the OWC drive there is a notch which lines up with the pin in the drive carrier sloth. Line them carefully and slide them together until they are fully seated. Then press down on the far side of the aura. The next thing you should do is take the screw and secure it in the same place you removed it from earlier. Angle the drive carrier into its base so that the solid end goes in first. Press the centre handle to align the tabs on the outer edge an d then release them to lock it in place. You can now connect the drive ribbon cable by aligning the connectors and push them together. Replace all the screws to attach the supply as it was aforementioned. Set the plastic cover back and press down until it clips securely. Next, take the two shortest screws first and then put the other ones. You may now flip your MacBook Pro and turn it on.

You are now probably amazed in regard to how easy it is to change your SSD For Macbook Pro Retina and gain that extra speed and memory. Apple offers you the best technology in the world and the only thing that you need to do is keep it serviced and upgrade your SSD with faster capabilities.

IT is something that has become necessary these days, technology is everywhere and we all depend on it so much. For someone who has a small business finding the right computer support can be increasingly difficult. A small business owner must find small business computer support that is cost effective, trustworthy, reliable and authentic. Now while you would expect every company to have these things, sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way. Below we’ll go over everything you need to know about finding the right small business computer support for small businesses.

We all know that large companies have an advantage when it comes to computer and IT support because they have the funds to hire as much as they need. Most large companies have in-house IT support which smaller companies just cannot afford or don’t have the need for. Now there are benefits to having in-house IT support but there are benefits that come with having outside IT support that you don’t always get with in house support. There are also other factors that can come into play like the number of people using computers, the nature of the business that is being conducted, and the location of the office as well. It’s also important for small business owners to understand the importance of getting small business computer support and the importance of finding the right company for the job that has the right set of skills to handle that small business in particular.

So what do you need to make sure of before hiring just any outside computer support? Well, you want to pick an IT organization that is ready for the job, well equipped and also experienced at handling things. You want an organization that will find the smaller flaws before they turn into a big problem for you. You want to find a company that understands your business and what you are aiming to do; you want them to be able to set up the system so it benefits you in every way it can. It’s important that you know what you want before you go out and choose small business computer support. You should make sure that you stick to your budget and also leave room for your expanding business. This way you are able to calculate the costs if you should be bringing in outside help at all.

Lastly, you want to find a company that deals with small businesses directly which is easy because all you have to do is do a quick search for businesses in your area. There has been a growing demand so there is plenty of help out there if you are willing to search for it. You want to do a little research on the company you like.
